As independent chartered surveyors we offer a range of services including building surveys, house surveys, insurance valuations, homebuyer reports and listed building surveys. Based in Cambridgshire and having offices located in Huntingdon and Cambridge we offer local knowledge and expertise.
Building Surveys are suitable for any age property, but are most appropriate for homes built before 1900 and for all types of commercial properties including factory surveys, public house surveys and shop surveys.
A full Building Survey Report is provided referring to structural repairs needing immediate attention, as well as expected maintenance problems. A valuation can be included. We also carry out pre-sale Building Surveys.

We are now more than ever conscious of the fact that many homes are bought as investments and also when clients are working overseas, or purchased in advance of retirement.
Our Building Surveys and Homebuyer Reports include particular comments relevant to a potential letting. For example many loft conversions are undertaken without allowance for safe means of escape from second floor accommodation in case of fire. In this case such rooms cannot be considered as bedrooms.
The RICS Homebuyer Survey and Valuation Report.
The Homebuyer Report is prepared using the RICS Homebuyer Survey and Valuation report form and is appropriate for homes of brick and tile construction which are no more than about 100 years old.
These reports were introduced by the RICS when it recognised that an alternative to Building Surveys could be prepared on relatively modern homes, concentrating on any significant defects. However, a Building Survey is still recommended if the building is of unusual construction or is in a particularly poor condition.
A copy of the standard RICS Homebuyers report terms can be emailed or posted to you.
